How it works
Side rings: clip the leash to the ring on the side of his chest. When he lunges, the pull turns his chest back toward you.
Reins: clip a double-ended leash to both side rings and steer left or right with a small move of your hand.
Back ring: for relaxed walks and long lines. Handle: hold him close when another dog passes.
Size guide
Measure around the widest part of his chest, 1–2 inches behind the front legs. Between two sizes? Choose the larger one.

7:10 am. The squirrel at the corner.
The leash is wrapped twice around my hand before we reach the gate.
Then he sees it. My arm shoots out, my shoulder pulls, and he coughs against his collar.
The neighbour waves. I can’t wave back.
At home I rub my shoulder and look at the leash on the hook.
What if I could walk him around the block with one relaxed hand, without being dragged and without him choking?

The solution
Steering, not a tug-of-war.
KOPPLA puts the leash on a ring at the side of his chest. When he lunges, the pull turns his chest back toward you instead of giving him something to lean into, the way a back clip does. Clip a double-ended leash to both side rings and they work like reins: a small move of your hand steers him left or right. The padded vest spreads the pull across his chest, so there is no pressure on his neck, and the handle on top keeps him close when another dog passes.
Compare
The pull turns him. It doesn’t choke him.
A collar puts the pull on his throat. A back-clip harness gives him something to lean into, like a sled dog. A head halter he spends the walk pawing at.

Why he pulls harder
Pressure from behind makes a dog lean in.
Dogs tend to push against pressure, a reaction known as the opposition reflex. A collar or a back clip pulls him from behind, so he leans into it and pulls harder. A ring at the side of his chest changes the direction of that pressure: instead of something to push against, a pull turns him sideways, back toward you.

FAQ
Will it stop my dog from pulling?
It gives you steering, not magic. With the leash on a side ring, a lunge turns his chest back toward you instead of pulling you forward. Pair it with a simple habit: stop when the leash goes tight, walk on when it’s loose.
Which ring should I use?
For a dog that pulls, use one side ring. To steer like reins, clip a double-ended leash to both side rings. The back ring is for relaxed walks and long lines.
How do I find the right size?
Measure around the widest part of his chest, 1–2 inches behind the front legs, and pick the size that fits that girth. Between two sizes? Choose the larger one.
| Size | Chest girth | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 13–18 in | 5–15 lb |
| S | 18–26 in | 15–30 lb |
| M | 24–32 in | 30–55 lb |
| L | 26–34 in | 55–85 lb |
| XL | 32–44 in | 80–140 lb |
How snug should it be?
Adjust the neck strap first, then the belly strap, until you can slide two fingers under each strap and no more. A snug fit keeps it in place when he backs up.
Does it press on his neck?
No. The pull goes to the padded chest and side panels, not his throat, which is why there’s no gagging or coughing like with a collar.
How do I put it on?
Slip it over his head, bring the belly strap under his chest and click the one buckle. Once the straps are set to his size, it takes about 3 seconds.
Will it rub him?
The vest is padded with breathable mesh on the inside. If it rubs behind the front legs, it is usually too loose or too low; tighten the neck strap a little.
Can people see us at night?
Reflective stitching runs along the straps and edges, so headlights pick him up on dark mornings and evenings.
Can I wash it?
Yes. Hand-wash it in lukewarm water with a mild soap and let it air-dry.
When will my order arrive?
Shipping is free and tracked across the US. Orders usually ship within 1–2 working days and arrive within 5–9 working days.
